County Payroll Manager (1 Post)
Job Group “P”
The County Assembly of Kirinyaga wishes to recruit a competent and qualified person to fill the post of county Payroll Manager.
He/she will be heading the payroll unit and will be reporting to the Human Resource Manager of the county.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Developing integrated County Assembly payroll management systems
  • Developing monthly payroll systems
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Human Resource Management budgets
  • Preparing and maintaining standard ad hoc reports queries and conducting appropriate audits to ensure integrity.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate Human Resource records
  • Coordinating with relevant departments
Requirements for appointment:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or in a relevant field
  • A masters degree will be an added advantage.
  • Relevant working experience of not less than three (3) years in payroll management.
  • At least CPA part two qualification is highly preferred for this position
  • Hands on experience on payroll packages preferably IPPD or G pay

Giraffe Ark Lodge is a serene sanctuary that graces the famous plains of Kieni in Nyeri County and is strategically placed between the majestic Aberdare Ranges to the south and the imposing snowcapped Mt.Kenya to the North.

Person Specifications
The minimum Technical and academic qualifications/requirements for your area of specialization;

  • Well organized, self-driven and responsible person;
  • Honest , hardworking and a go getter team player;
  • Proficiency in at least 2 foreign language for the reservations executives and tour guides;

  • Ability to work long hours and on shift basis.

Qualifications
1.Associate professor
Applicants must be holders of a Ph.D degree in relevant field from a recognized university. In addition, applicants must have the   following:
  • Eight (8) years of university teaching, three (3) of which as full time Senior Lecturer.
  • Successfully supervised at least four (4) Masters students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
  • At least five (5) articles in refereed journals since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
  • Evidence of successfully applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed SeniorLecturer.
  • Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching. Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars or workshops. Those with management experience will have an added advantage.
2. Lecturer
Applicants must have a Ph.D from a recognized university in the relevant discipline. Those with masters’ degree plus two years of university teaching/ research as Assistant lecturer and at least two (2) publications in refereed journals will also be considered.
3. Tutorial fellow
Applicants must be holders of a masters’ degree from a recognized university in the relevant discipline. In addition, the applicants must be ready to pursue a Ph.D degree in their area of specialization. University teaching experience will be an added advantage.
Terms and conditions of service
  • Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration packages as offered in other constituent university colleges in Kenya.
  • Employment will be on permanent terms except for Tutorial Fellows who will be employed on two (2) year contract renewable depending on progress toward achievement of the PhD degree.
  • Those  with degrees from  foreign universities  should attach certificates  of  equation and recognition of qualifications from Commission for University Education.
