RECRUITMENT AT KIRINYAGA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE NON-TEACHING STAFF JOBS

Kirinyaga University College (KYUC), was established by the Kenya Government through the Kirinyaga University College  Order, Legal  Notice  No.  108  of  August, 2011 as  a  constituent college  of Jomo Kenyatta  University  of Agriculture and Technology. The University College aims at becoming a world class university in training, research, technology and innovation for development.

The University College invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons with excellent acade mic credentials to fill the following positions:

 NON-TEACHING STAFF

1. Legal officer Grade II (1 Position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/01/01/14

Applicants must have a masters’ degree in Law OR Bachelors degree in Law plus five (5) years experience in Grade 10 or a comparable position. In addition the applicant must be an Advocate of the High Court and must be registered with LSK. Those with experience in an institution of higher learning will have an added advantage.

2. Assistant internal auditor I Grade 8 (1 position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/02/01/14

Applicants must possess Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting/Finance option) or its equivalent or any other acceptable professional accountancy qualification by virtue of which the holder is exempted from part I of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examination OR must possess CPA Part II Section 4 or equivalent.

Must have served as Assistant Internal Auditor II at Grade 7 for five (5) years or any other relevant or comparable position.

Must have relevant computer applications

3. Estates Officer Grade II (1 position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/03/01/14

Applicants must possess a Masters degree in the relevant field with three (3) years experience in Grade 10 or comparable position OR must possess a Higher National Diploma/Higher Diploma or Bachelors degree in relevant field from recognized Institutions with five (5) years experience in Grade 10 or comparable position. Be registered with a relevant Professional body.

4. Nursing Officer II Grade 9 (1 position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/04/01/14

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from a recognized University and be registered with

Kenya Nursing Council OR five (5) years experience at Grade 8 or a comparable position.

5. Pharmaceutical technologist I Grade 8 (1 position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/05/01/14

Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology and be registered with the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board OR a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized Medical Training College or its equivalent and five (5) years experience at Grade 7 or equivalent.

6. Clinical Attendant II Grade 4 (1 position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/06/01/14

Applicants must have a KCSE certificate or equivalent. They must have undertaken professional training in Nurse

Aide lasting for at least six (6) months and must have five (5) years experience at Grade 7 or equivalent.

7. Library Assistant I Grade 5 (2 positions)

Ref: KYUC/NT/07/01/14

Applicants must possess KCSE academic certificate or equivalent and a Diploma in Information Science.

Those  with  certificate  in  Information  Science  and  at  least  ten  (10)  years

Experience in Grade 4 will also be considered.

8. Procurement/Stores Clerk Grade 5 (2 positions)

Ref: KYUC/NT/08/01/14

Applicants must possess KCSE certificate or equivalent and a Diploma in Supplies Management from a reputable institution with three (3) relevant working experience in a busy organization.

9. Artisan I- Electrician Grade 4 (1 position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/09/01/14

Applicants must be holders of a Government Trade Test grade II in wiring and electrical installation. They should have at least a mean grade of C- or equivalent at KCSE with three years relevant working experience in a busy organization. Those with practical knowledge in building, wiring and electrical maintenance works will have an added advantage.

10. Farm Technician III Grade 5 (1 position)

Ref: KYUC/NT/010/01/14

Applicants must possess KCSE/EACE/KCE academic certificates and a Diploma in the relevant field OR GTTI OR Technician Part III or equivalent.    

Those Candidates  without the  above  certificates  but have served successfully at the level of Grade 4 for at least five (5) years will be also be considered.

11. Security Guard III Grade 3 (6 Positions)

Ref: KYUC/NT/011/01/14

 Applicants must possess KCSE Certificate. They should have worked with any of the Disciplined Forces of Kenya or any other reputable security firm with a Discharge Certificate and must possess Certificate of Good Conduct.

Terms and conditions of service

• Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration packages as offered in other constituent university colleges in Kenya.
• Employment will be on permanent terms except for Tutorial Fellows who will be employed on two (2) year contract renewable depending on progress toward achievement of the PhD degree.
• Those  with degrees from  foreign universities  should attach certificates  of  equation and recognition of qualifications from Commission for University Education.
