Dreams of Destiny

I woke up very early today to ensure that i catch a bus to go and celebrate Madaraka day with my family.Home sweet home.East or west home is the best.
There is this place we call home, this place full of love, comfort, peace, providence, embrace i.e full of life. This place was my destination this morning.
Every person has a virtual home called destiny, everyone longs to reach there no matter what.
Abraham Maslow  in his hierachy of needs should have included destiny as the first and  last need that everyone has.
Look around and see! Every one is trying out something to get a catch of his/her destiny. Some are in college, trying out a business idea, some looking for partners, and all these things we do everyday. Thanks to the Bible it tell us that God safeguards our destiny period!
Do you know, destiny is born out of fruitition of dreams and visions.
Think about this,Martin Luther dreamt of an American nation where everyone would long to live in 'Canaan' for you.As a leader he saw a destiny for his country. What about you?Do you see a destiny for your life?
Start dreaming now!Write that vision! With determination and persistence it will surely come, like America you will be a favourite to many,in short you will be in control.
Those who have dreams but are about to give in, give patience and faith a chance, a new dawn is coming carrying destiny on its wings.
Though the tree is cut it will surely sprout again.
N/B Success is preparation meeting opportunity at dreamland.

Birth of best ideas

Child bearing is the most painful experience that a mother encounter’s (the pain is similar to 20 bones getting fractured at a time). The Doctor’s advice to the mother at this point is to relax and let the labor pains exert pressure, leading to fast and less strenuous child birth.
I write this from my office where I feel that work stress from my colleagues is too much on me. My productivity is going low and I’m sorry to say my motivation levels are near a low of 20%.At this point what can one do to create an environment full of life and strength from within and restore productivity. I once led that innovation is born when one relaxes and lets things to arouse simplicity which bears the best ideas. I know many are the daily pressures of life. Relationship not working, bills increasing by day, pressure from dependants, uncooperating colleagues, layoffs, one can’t take all at once.
In spite of all this it’s expected of us to remain productive and grow, from employment to self employment, from rentals to owning a house, one cadre to a higher cadre. Do you know all you have to do is to take time out from all this hustles and get time to relax away from the hustles of life and you know what there a 99% possibility of creativity is thus great ideas are born? Ask the Singaporian company that invented stick notes, the idea came when one of their mangers had gone out for a vacation and as he was enjoying the beautiful mother nature on a vacation that this idea exploded in his mind, he couldn’t help it but implemented it now the company has generated supernormal profits from the stick notes projects.
Ask Isaac Newton what he was doing under the mango tree when he discovered the law of gravity. He could daily pass by the mango tree in a hurry trying to push things in life to leave a mark in this world, little did he know that the day he would move away from the hustles and take time to relax under the mango tree his position in the world of earth science would be guaranteed since that a day he’s remembered hundreds of years down the line.
My doctor tells me that for psychological therapy to take place one has to take time away from stressful life. The brain takes time to rejuvenate itself leading to new and stronger brain cells. It also reduces probability of heart disease and enhances physical fitness.
MAKE SURE YOU RELAX

Purpose to take some time out this weekend or a take a leave and have time away from your normal routine. Maybe this is all that you need to have a glimpse at an idea you have been struggling to get.

Take time and chart its implementation. Always implement your ideas.

Walk of Life

"Life is hard" Many say so.
But compared to what???
Have you ever known that people have confused their lack of planning and poor information gathering for decision making as the contribution to making life hard.
Imagine this conversations;
You:How is life
Friend1:Not bad
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?,?????,?
You:How is life
Friend 2:It's good

All these responses reflect a good life. But looking at these two answers it clearly seen that one friend is a pessimist who sees things from the negative with the other being an optimist who sees life from the positive.
The key to enjoying life is cultivating an attitude of positivity.
See the glass as half full not half empty and you will conquer life.
In the midst of challenges look for a positive thing to be happy about.

#parting shot#
Many started their own companys after losing a job.
Many learnt to appreciate and value their partner after a heartbreak.
Many learn to be attentive and work hard after failing an exam.

Life without hardships is a life without growth.
Most of our blessings come packed as hardships.

FAILURE PRODUCES RESILIENCE.

DON'T CONFUSE OPPORTUNITIES WITH CHALLENGES.

GOOD STEWARDSHIP

Every one has a responsibility to empathetically and inquisitively contribute for the betterment of others this is *STEWARDSHIP*. In literal meaning ‘You have a responsibility’. A parent is responsible for her child, a teacher to his student, a preacher to her congregants’, a president to his citizens. As a person you’re responsible for your education, family relationship, environment, neighbor etc.
You are called to nurture
There is a guarantee for life fulfillment to a good steward but not without challenges from the things you so much value; friends will forsake you, your child will despise you, your politician will play trickery on you for your vote. But you know what? A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him’ (David Brinkely)
Every one is called to stewardship through his purpose. One can’t fulfill his purpose without scratching others.
Every one was created to fulfill a certain purpose. Gods plan are so successive and interdependent such that no single action will lack precedence and thereafter a reactive result.
In this world everything you do will in one way or another affect another person. This is the reason today we have problems with climate change, terrorism, poor leadership and diseases such as cancer and other pandemics.
Today no organization or government or individual can work without ethics and related policies to help tame the externalities.
DO’s for a good steward.
  • Be willing to sacrifice self interests for the good of others
  • Cultivate a natural desire to serve others and to make a difference for others.
  • Nurture, motivate and empower others through honest praise and supportive recognition, avoid flattery.
  • Put yourself in other people’s shoes.
  • Be approachable your responsible for the success of others. You are a bridge to someone’s success.
  • Think, evaluate and understand the consequences before you act.
  • Be led by truth and love in your acts not the accruing benefits for your actions.
  • Mentor others along the way.
  • Let your conscience be alive
DON’Ts for a good steward.
  • Never be self-centered at some point you will need a bridge called people.
  • Never despise simple advice. If God wanted you to achieve it all one he could have separated you from others.
  • Never walk alone. Props are important.
*Parting shot*
Praise and glory lasts for sometime but legacy lasts forever. Don’t live to please everyone only puppets can achieve that.

Stars Shine in Darkness

What would happen if there were no challenges in life?

A challenge is an objection,a test a dispute.
In life nothing happens with perfection or our expectations are challenged by life events. You wake up in the morning to get to the job early only to get late in traffic, your car gets a puncture, you receive a call that your friend got sick.Challenge is the current that flows against us in life.
But did you know that the greatest gifts are borne in challenges.Similarly, stars shine at night they need the darkness for their presence to be felt.
The level of one's strength ids determined by the challenges he can withstand and conquer.
The story of MacDonald's
The greatest fast food company McDonald's was born after the great depression when the people though that All was lost economically. When back in 1954, a man named Ray Kroc discovered a small burger restaurant in California, and started the great journey to build an empire (This was done when the depression had hit hard on the American economy and there were no signs of blossom)from that humble start as a small restaurant, The world today's is proud to enjoy the delicacies each day at these joints.Today,MacDonald is proud to have become one of the world's leading food service retailers in more than 100 countries, with more than 36,000 restaurants serving approximately 69 million people every day.

Doing a small thing in a big way!

Extraordinary is born from ordinary when value is added to the ordinary.
On 23rd May 2015 a big celebration is going down in Kenya, Nyeri County to be precise. One woman a missionary nurse, seventy years ago got on a mission as a volunteer nurse in Kenyan underdeveloped rural villages in the Highlands of Nyeri. She made a decision to sacrifice all her privileges and embarked on a passionate mission to rid off the poor of the poor chronic diseases such as rabies, malaria and other common sicknesses. She could move from one household to another treating, encouraging and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with community members. She died of an infection she got from a community member, since protective gears were not available then.
Today over seventy years later long after her death she’s being celebrate as she undergoes the most prestigious or honorary convocation under the catholic faith i.e. beatification for sainthood.
#Sister Irene Nyaatha has given precedence for all of us in this life that no matter, who you are? Whom you are? Where you are? What you do? You can leave a mark in this world.
Sister Irene

‘The world is celebrating her today as she is beatified to sainthood’
 *They call it legacy*
Her experience is a recipe for success in everything we do whether individual or organizational. It’s imperative that we get quick tips on how to beat the world detractors and usher ourselves to victory:
v  Embrace service to humanity
v  Identify a problem and solve it
v  Let passion drive you!
v  Learn to sacrifice.
v  Don’t compete. Stay original
v  Move against the currents.
v  Value life. The other person needs you.
v  Die doing it.
Mother Teresa did it, why not me? Steve Jobs did it ,why not me? Billy Graham did it ,why not me?
Martin Luther King did it, why not me? Moses did it, why not me?
Let these questions clog your thought system and thrust a mental shift

Addressing the current career crisis.

‘’Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over, if you just sit there’’ Will Rogers
Lately, I have counseled and encountered a bunch of youth in need of career counseling & guidance
Most of them are armed with good grades but have no idea on the career path to take.
Lately, there has been a laxity in the way institutions’ give career guidance to the students, today the information given is more of persuasive rather than informative. Learning institutions’ mushrooming in every corner of our country care less on the passion of the students they admit in their different courses. This has worsened to the extent that some institutions’ are even offering substandard courses and even fake papers. This has been partly addressed by the government move to regulate partnerships between universities and private learning institutions’. Kudos! For that.
A backlash has arisen between learning institutions and employers whereby the latter are accusing the former of producing half baked professionals. Graduates are now left at the mercy of Mother Nature and employees in getting a job.
Who will salvage the situation! I ask?
The recruitment firms on the flipside have found a money minting avenue by exploiting the desperate graduates who are not confident enough to compose a cover letter or a resume by themselves. Human resource agencies have mushroomed in every corner of the country offering bespoke (as they call them) Resume and job application letters. They even conduct mimic interviews to the clients (desperate graduates) and coach them on how to answer questions in the interviews. In the end the clients end up getting the job but no sooner as they settle in the job than they are fired or assumed redundant. Today we have all over our nation desperate youth who have never been employed or can’t sustain a job every day they are in the streets insisting that the government is not keen to provide employment opportunities.

Way Forward!
To end this menace, one, should take a foundational orientation to tackle it. First, let the students be taken through a rigorous purpose and passion coaching. This will ensure that they get a foundation within which they can build their career beyond an 8 to 5 job. The High school teachers and students should focus more on purpose and passion training, rather than mere motivational talks towards better grades. This will lead to motivated students who have a better picture of their career path….

How do you start to save?

More often than not we range our accomplishment and success by what we are able to achieve within our set goals. In every second all over the world someone is investing. The key investment currencies are money and time .Anonymous ’Time is Money’ this concludes the matter that money is the most valuable resource on can ever have it’s the worlds medium of exchange. That ‘s why an employee will spend a whole month working for an organization and in return he/she gets a salary at month end.
The Bible declares that money answereth all things whether good or evil as we read in the book of Timothy that records love for money is the source of all evil.
Money is so powerful that even the illiterate of the illiterates’ can’t compromise on it. That’s why even people who aren’t schooled get to handle money as if they were in class .Through life one acquire knowledge about money but mostly it’s mostly about addition and subtraction.
With all this in mind there are very few people who understand the concept of money management in this and other series of articles we will tackle money management.
Today we tackle the saving aspect…………………………………
Why save Money?

ü  To acquire an asset maybe land, house,TV set, car, etc
ü  To start a business e.g buy a camera for planned photography enterprise, start a home business.
ü  As a precautionary measure due to life uncertainty i.e Emergency fund
ü  To undertake personal advancement projects such as pay school fees, wedding and other gatherings
ü  To  access a loan, mostly in SACCO’s (One get 3 times of what he /she saves as a loan)
ü  Vacation or Family bonding.
How to start saving?
For starters start saving by saving 10 % of your total income. We start here for easy transition as we slowly embraces the aspect*ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY*
Modes of saving?
Bank accounts
This can be either an savings account pr a fixed deposit account .Determine the best bank to open an account with depending on their interest rates.
Home Bank
Get a small box container or determine the best way to keep the money saved where it’s safe.
N/B: Determine the cost of what you want to purchase i.e the priority need. Ensure that you consider time value for money in that a house that costs 2 million today may be priced 3 million in 2 years to come.

Step 3:Get the infromation related to each solution
Step 4: Establish the best solution through cost benefit analysis.

Image result for projects images
For example if you want to buy a vehicle do as follows (It works 99%)
Establish whether you need a vehicle.
Describe the use of the vehicle if needed( maybe for business or a family vehicle
Determine the type of vehicle you need( either a small saloon car, pick up,lorry etc)
Determine the car model you need(whether Mercedes,Nissan,Mitsubishi) analyze this in terms of fit for use, maintenance, fuel use, availability of spare parts, manual or automatic)
Determine the amount of money available and the mode of financing the asset( whether personal savings, bank loan,Sacco or Chama loan or Staff car loan scheme)
Do your cost benefit analysis by estimating the expected income/savings against the initial money injected to purchase the car)
If the project is feasible  execute it if not go back to the drawing board (Step 1) #ALL THE BEST
You can use this process for both individual or group projects.

N/B: ALWAYS SEEK PROFESSIONAL ADVICE WHERE NEED BE!

PERSONAL COMMITMENT

Better fail 1001 times in commitment than succeed once without commitment.
Commitment is the fuel that drives and lubricates the cogs of success.
In the tenets of success, commitment is a major pillar for success.
A person may be on the right track but if he's not committed he will never achieve anything.
In Strategic management whether organisational or individual commitment is key.
Safaricom Ltd Reported 32 billion profits not because its the best company or has the best talents but its because it's committed to customer satisfaction and continuous innovation.

A family will succeed when a man is committed to loving his wife, the wife is committed to submitting and respecting her husband and the children to obeying their parents period.

Nelson Mandela was so commited to ending apartheid that he forgave his oppressors.
Wangari Mathai was so committed to conserving the environment that she risked confrontations with the government to conserve Karura forest.

'You can sacrifice without committing but you can't commit without sacrificing'

BULLS & BEARS

Most people today never know that their attitude determines their actions.
ATTITUDE IS THE MOTHER OF PREFERENCE.
People with low self esteem will obviously have a bad attitude towards their personality and that is why the will hide behind the introvert nature and even make it their lifestyle.
Successful people (people who get satisfaction in what they do) have a bull attitude (fight until you win the war not the fight)Mayweather won the fight but his war with Pacquiao is not won probably they will fight much more in future
These are their attributes
They Face Things Head On. They have killed the fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of meeting new people and fear of fulfillment.

Don’t Take NO For An Answer. They believe that if things get bad you don’t throw them away but you fix them.

Branding Part 2

Settle permanently in positivity and possibility.
When you get rid of the negatives give yourself into positivity start appreciating who you are.make it your habit to see the small or negligible achievements you make daily since a brand is built by small bricks of daily targets achieved effectively and with passion.
Draw you self image, See yourself in the lenses of who you want to become, write you vision. Don’t fear though it may tarry *VISION* it will surely come. Work smart. Anonymous’’ Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try’’
TALK OF VISION………… (PLEASE THINK ABOUT YOUR LEGACY BECAUSE YOU ARE WRITING IT EVERYDAY)
Vision should dictate every action you take.
How to boost your vision:
Step 1-Identify 3-5 areas which if attended would be of a great impact to your life.
Step 2-Look at your areas of weaknesses and zone them. Do not fear to discover your weaknesses it’s the first step to overcoming them.
Step 3-Look at the level of your skills development;
Ø  Career skills,
Ø  Business skills,
Ø  Social or people skills,
Ø  Soft skills
Ø  Life skills
Step 4 -Ask yourself the following set of questions!
·         What am I in this life?
·         Who am I?
·         Where am I?
N/B: Be candid in answering these questions no flattering.
STEP 5-Ask yourself the following set of questions!
·         What do I want to be?
·         What do I want to be called?
·         Where do I want to be after a particular period maybe 1 year?
Step 6-Determine the activities if done would result to realization of the vision.
More steps to follow in part 3 be in the loop…………………….
